Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how United4Citizenship ("United4Citizenship," "U4C," "we," "us," and "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you visit our website, create an account, practice civics questions, use spoken-answer features, manage your study timeline, or purchase a subscription.

Last updated April 5, 2026.

What we collect

Account details, study activity, optional audio and transcripts, timeline information, analytics data, and subscription status.

Why we use it

To run the product, personalize practice, process payments, secure accounts, support users, and improve the service.

Your controls

You can manage profile information in the app, avoid optional microphone features, clear browser storage, and contact support with privacy requests.

Information we collect

Account and contact information

When you register or sign in, we may collect your name, email address, account identifier, and sign-in method. If you choose Google sign-in, we also receive the profile information made available by that provider.

Study, profile, and timeline information

We collect information needed to operate your study experience, such as question responses, answer accuracy, practice settings, progress summaries, and category-level performance statistics.

If you use timeline or planning features, we may also collect information you enter there, including applicant name, pathway, green card issue date, target filing date, N-400 filing date, filing preferences, receipt number, notes, and related checklist progress.

Audio and transcript data

If you choose spoken-answer features, we collect the audio you submit and the transcript generated from that audio so we can provide transcription, scoring, and related practice functionality. Use of microphone features is optional.

Payment and subscription information

If you purchase a paid plan, checkout is processed through Stripe. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers in this app. We may receive subscription status, plan information, billing timestamps, customer identifiers, and transaction-related metadata needed to confirm and manage access.

Usage, device, and analytics data

We collect usage information such as page views, feature interactions, study session events, timer settings, practice mode, question categories, progress metrics, report openings, and similar product analytics. We may also receive technical information such as browser type, device information, IP-derived information, and log data from our hosting and analytics providers.

Cookies and local storage

We and our service providers may use cookies, SDKs, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, measure usage, remember preferences, and support security and product functionality.

This app also uses browser storage for limited product features. For example, it may store dashboard task state and model-preload flags on your device. Clearing browser storage may reset those local preferences.

How we use information

  • Provide the website, account features, study tools, progress tracking, and timeline planning features.
  • Authenticate users and secure accounts.
  • Score answers, generate transcripts, and personalize study recommendations.
  • Process subscriptions, verify paid access, and provide billing-related support.
  • Monitor performance, detect misuse, troubleshoot issues, and improve the service.
  • Communicate with you about account, support, operational, legal, and policy matters.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

How we share information

We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • With service providers that help us run the product, such as hosting, authentication, database, analytics, payment, customer-support, and transcription vendors.
  • With Google/Firebase services we use for authentication, application data, analytics, and server-side functions.
  • With Stripe and related payment partners to process subscriptions and prevent fraud.
  • When required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • In connection with a merger, financing, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do share data with vendors and processors that help us run the service on our behalf.

Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain your account, process subscriptions, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, comply with legal obligations, and protect the service. Retention periods vary by data type and context.

Data stored locally in your browser remains there until it expires, you clear it, or the app removes it. Payment and transaction records may be retained by Stripe or other providers under their own retention rules.

  • You can choose not to use optional audio recording features.
  • You can clear cookies or browser storage through your browser settings, although some features may stop working properly.
